come one, come all, witness the beating of tigers
Come join in the fun at C.K.'s Tavern and Grill at 6:00pm tomorrow (Saturday) night. We will be watching the ASU Sun Devils vs the LSU Tigers football game, eating dinner, having some beer, and hanging out.
C.K.'s is at 4142 E Chandler Blvd, which is just East of 40th St in Ahwatukee on the North side of the road. Their website is at http://www.ckgrill.com/ if you want to read more.
don't forget to bring a towel!
Today, we start with a joke Lori sent me;
Four women were driving across the country. Each one was from a
different state: Idaho, Nebraska, Arizona and California.
Shortly after the trip began, the woman from Idaho started pulling
potatoes from her bag and throwing them out of the window.
"What the heck are you doing?" demanded the Californian.
"We have so many of these darn things in Idaho, I am just sick of
looking at them!"
A moment later, the gal from Nebraska began pulling ears of corn from
her bag and tossing them from the window.
"What are you doing that for?" asked the lady from Arizona.
"We have so many of these things in Nebraska, I am just sick of looking
at them!"
Inspired, the woman from Arizona opened the car door and pushed the
Californian out.

I thought that was funny.
Next a quote from the mayor of New Orleans that I liked;
"Everyone needs to leave except for crazy people like the press, the
military and the city [employees]," Ray Nagin said. "This is not a
safe environment."
It's interesting how they're using the US Military in New Orleans. Our laws prohibit using the Military on the citizens of the US, so they're being really careful about how they use them. The 82nd airborne is apparently out in force (if you've read that blog I mentioned the other day you read about this), but are being escorted by officials with jurisdiction everywhere. They broke into those guys' datacenter, but had a US Marshall with them. It will be really interesting if the Governor actually declares Marshall Law to remove the few remaining citizens and see the National Guard actually ordering the Army around.
Last night was fun, dinner actually turned out really good, despite my pre-lighter fluid soaked charcoal being dried out. The chicken was kind of smokey tasting because of it (starting cooking before it was properly heated to cut back on cook time), but it was cooked almost perfectly in the end. We watched the O.C. and some South Park. We watch the Towelie / Game Sphere episode which was great because Towelie is one of my favorite characters.
