ipod nano

Well the iPod Mini is no more. Apple today released the iPod Nano (among other things) to replace it. The biggest difference is that the iPod Nano is flash based instead of disk based. This means lower power usage, smaller form factor, less moving parts, and less weight. This also means slower transfer times of MP3s to the device though. They are offering it in 2GB and 4GB sizes, so as to not conflict with the iPod Shuffle (512MB and 1GB) or iPod (20GB and 60GB). The Nano has a click wheel, color screen, photo capabilities, and comes in black and white. Here are some pictures of it;

It seems to fit the "shuffle with a screen" purpose very well. I'm not entirely sure it should fully replace the iPod Mini though. The 4GB <-> 20GB space could be filled with a color screen iPod Mini one would think.

They also released iTunes 5, QuickTime 7, and along with Motorola, the Rokr. The Rokr is an iTunes capable cell phone for use with Cingular only. It is apparently capable of holding 100 songs max (more than the rumored 35), and has decent battery and sound quality.

I'm not really interested in any of this stuff (other than iTunes 5), but it's interesting to see nonetheless.

I am expected to live to 89.3. Crazy.

Eating decently and exercising goes a long way I guess?
